Inserting your videos/sources into the app is simple: clicking "Add Input" brings up a context menu listing a copious amount of options available to the users to add their content.
Even with the "Basic" mode disabled, working with this app is still just as straightforward. Perhaps the most notable thing about vMix is how easy it is to navigate through, even though the features it provides would have hinted at a cluttered, casual-user-averse interface. vMix is geared for such tasks: add in your videos through the expansive "Inputs" list, play them simultaneously, edit and intersperse them per your requirements - and more. Producing and recording clips involves a lot of trial and error, so the programs to be used for such duties must be intuitive and feature-rich, to help you better navigate the process.
It is thus unsurprising to realize that such software needs to be comprehensive and specialized. Before one gets to edit a video, they have to have something to work with. What also needs heeding is the production itself.
Video editing takes a lot of skill and practice to get right, and there are certainly a lot of variables that need to be accounted for.
